The City lists a one-time home plumbing assessment, up to two backwater valves and alarms, a sump pump and alarm, battery backup, and foundation-drain severance and capping, subject to category limits and all program conditions.
No. The City states that downspout disconnection is not eligible for a subsidy, although compliance or an exemption may be a program condition.
No. A backwater valve addresses reverse sewer flow. Groundwater, surface runoff, foundation leaks and failed plumbing require different measures.
Severe storms can interrupt power when groundwater is entering fastest. A properly sized and maintained backup can continue pumping for a limited period.
